Who do you look to when you want good advice? If you’re like me, then you may feel like all the good mentors are gone. Everyone seems to be in it for the money or using advice as a tease to sell you something bigger. It has become very difficult to trust the advice as you may not feel the authenticity of the advice.

Author, Malcolm Gladwell, explains that reaching the 10,000-Hour Rule, which he considers the key to success in any field, is simply a matter of practicing a specific task that can be accomplished with 20 hours of work a week for 10 years. That being said, advice will look like the advice of an expert after they have been in the trenches for 10 years learning what they are talking about.

This topic is close to my heart because I often feel like I have to prove my credentials as I’ve added health and wellness to my portfolio of knowledge and recommendations to my followers. I have been researching the link to lifestyle and cancer since I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, it occurred to me that I have become an expert in knowing what is authentic and what is marketing. In that time I have also added over 1,000 resources; I have attended dozens of medical and educational presentations, and have flown to conferences to network with other medical and health professionals.

My hope is that you trust my experience, strength, and hope in what I have learned and am sharing with you. I am also an expert in “Project Management”. As a licensed, PMP, I have an ethical responsibility to do the right thing with my business projects to protect my client. Personally, I have a moral obligation to share with you what I have learned in the medical and health world that I feel could save you or someone you love’s life.

Having a personal way to qualify one’s experience and advice is prudent.
